Award Honors Exceptional Caregivers

SMH has a special recognition program that singles out exceptional techs (PCTs, MSTs, Psych Techs, etc.) providing direct patient care.

The TEA ROSE Technician Excellence Award, which is similar to SMH’s DAISY Award for nursing excellence, stands for Technician Excellence Award: Recognizing Outstanding Service & Experience.

Over the past year, new TEA ROSE honorees include Lena Koch, MST, of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (first-quarter 2021 winner), Jason Hopper, MST, of the North Port Emergency Room (second-quarter winner) and Jeff Rossip, Psych MST of the Bayside Center for Behavioral Health (third-quarter winner). These exceptional techs earned the TEA ROSE honor based not only on their clinical skills, but also on their compassionate care, and their recognition as role models of excellence by patients, families and co-workers.

TEA ROSE nomination forms are emailed each quarter to RNs, PCTs, MSTs and clinical leaders, but patients, physicians or other staff can fill out a nomination; contact Clinical Educator Laura Horner via SMH email for the form.
