March: SMH Named Among World’s Best Hospitals

Early in 2021, Sarasota Memorial was named one of the world’s best hospitals in a global ranking compiled by Newsweek magazine.

SMH was one of 13 Florida hospitals to make the list, which spotlighted 2,000 hospitals across 25 countries. Newsweek compiled the recognition in collaboration with global market research and consumer data company Statista Inc.

Hospitals were selected based on medical performance indicators that included low mortality, complication and readmission rates, as well as recommendations from medical professionals and patient survey results. It was the third time SMH earned a spot on the magazine’s list.
