First EXCEL Winner of 2022 Shines Brightly

Each month, Sarasota Memorial recognizes an outstanding winner of the EXCEL Employee Award. The first winner of 2022, awarded in January, is Patient Care Representative 2 Dyamond Thailing, of Pre-Admission Testing.

Dyamond has been an employee since 2017. She received numerous nominations for the EXCEL Award, and they all describe her as an invaluable member of the team and an excellent communicator. Co-workers also say she is a highly organized and dynamic individual.

Dyamond was instrumental in spearheading COVID testing during the pandemic, and then transitioned to a new role as a patient care representative for the Cardio-Thoracic team and Ralph Tufano, MD, medical director of Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery.

Colleagues describe Dyamond as the glue that binds surgeons, patients and families together. She takes extra time to communicate important details so patients and their loved ones know what to expect before and after surgery. She helps family members download the EASE App on their mobile devices so our patient care team can keep them updated on the day of the patient’s procedure.

As her admiring peers wrote when nominating her for the EXCEL Award, Dyamond’s smile and her compassion “shine brightly, and help patients and families have the most positive experience possible.”
