February: SMH Patient Care Team Receives Super Invite!

Twenty-four members of the patient care team from 5 Waldemere had the incredible opportunity to be among 7,500 vaccinated health care heroes invited to attend Super Bowl LV in Tampa in February 2021.

The team, who had been working on one of SMH’s busiest COVID-19 units, had sent a special video to the Super Bowl host committee seeking tickets. Weeks later, they were asked to participate in a Zoom call, where they expected to speak to Sarasota Memorial CEO David Verinder about their care of COVID patients. Instead, they were surprised by the special invitation from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell!
